Renault ready for electric 'Design Rides' Dutch Design Week 2018

15 October 2018

Design Rides by Jeroen van der Wielen
Renault will feature prominently at Dutch Design Week from October 20th to 28th in Eindhoven. The French brand will use 45 units of the electric Renault ZOE as ‘Design Ride’ to transport visitors electrically for the first time.

Electric for the first time

As a partner of Dutch Design Week 2018, Renault will provide 45 units of the 100% electric Renault ZOE to be utilised for free transportation service. This year will be the first time using completely emission-free ‘Design Rides’. Approximately 18,000 rides will be made. The charging of these cars will happen at one of the largest mobile charging squares in Europe, which was installed especially by Renault in Eindhoven, developed by Van der Sijs techniek. With forty charging stations available, each Renault ZOE will be charged after event-hours. The Renault ZOE has a driving range of 300 kilometres at full charge.

Renault Design Rides

The 100% electric ‘Design Rides’ were handed over to the eighty DDW volunteers, and Martijn Paulen (director DDW) together with John Jorritsma, mayor of Eindhoven. This makes Renault and Dutch Design Week ready to transport visitors of the event between the different locations.

Visitors can make use of the free taxi-service (daily from 11.00 to 20.00) to visit the more than 100 DDW-locations. Hop on at one of these taxi ranks: Lichtplein, Stadhuisplein, Klokgebouw and Piet Hein Eek.
