With work from 2600 designers, covering just about every area in our society, the event kicks up some dust for debate and delivers food for thought. DDW presents you a daily summary of debates, lectures and seminars spread across Eindhoven.

Creative Ring organizes its first international Sum-It!: a one of a kind event, where creative communities exchange knowledge and find the tools to shape tomorrow’s urban narratives.

9.30 - 11.00 | ALL-INCLUSIVE CYBORG TALK: UNIFORMITY VS. DIVERSITY

Topic of this Cyborg Talk: Technology offers many people the opportunity to participate in society. Technology as enabler of accessibility. The practice is different. The paradox of technology is that, despite the possibilities, the instrument is often used to control, manage, and homogenize society.

At the core of the symposium is the question how technology affects the way in which museum collections are presented to the public. The theme of ‘reconstruction’ will be explored from many different perspectives, including the kernel question of ‘authenticity’.

Everyday during DDW, the racetrack is cleared and makes room for some in depth talks on the different perspectives presented.

18.00 - 19.00 | CREATE OUT LOUD #3: WHAT IF… YOU HAVE NO REFERENCE ANYMORE?

Ever since the talk show was invented, the concept has been virtually left unchanged. An untenable situation, especially during Dutch Design Week, where designers are expected to question anything and everything.
