We are showcasing at Dutch Design Week with "X (Chiasm)," exploring chiasm—a rhetorical structure where two elements invert and intersect, creating new meaning. As temporary residents in the Netherlands, we examine how our different lifestyles mirror and intersect within individually defined 13.3m².
This year, we present our first exhibition at Dutch Design Week, titled "X (Chiasm)".
The theme, symbolized by X, represents the inversion of structures, highlighting the crossing of two opposing yet similar elements, (A) and (B), where content differs despite a shared form. As temporary residents in the Netherlands, we explore how our diverse lifestyles mirror and intersect within our individually defined 13.3m² spaces. Here, (A) signifies our origins, while (B) represents our temporary residence. These boundaries also appear in interactions, such as between roommates or in solitary living. Our products are shaped by these experiences.
Our exhibition aims to present "scenes of dwelling" in the Netherlands to foreigners and Dutch citizens who value multicultural living. This project helps us develop tools for understanding cultural diversity and identity. We showcase our methodology through products designed for living spaces, conveying our collective narrative. Our goal is to recognize and respect boundaries, maintain distinctions, and find common elements that create intersections, focusing on singular moments rather than blending or fusion.
