Dear Plastic

'Dear Plastic' is an homage to the aesthetics of plastic.

'Dear Plastic' by Florian Post celebrates the aesthetic qualities of everyday plastic products.
In several pieces, design elements of our throwaway culture are transformed into sculptural objects made from durable materials.

🪣

Due to its practicality and versatility, plastic has become indispensable. However, unlike conventional materials, its lifespan is quite limited and the former "miracle material" has turned into a major problem in a short space of time.
Of course, it is not the plastic itself that is to blame for the global waste catastrophe, but our relationship with the material. The lack of appreciation for plastic products in general is the driving force behind our throwaway society.

'Dear Plastic' is an homage to the aesthetics of plastic.

The individual pieces acknowledge and appreciate formal qualities of everyday plastic products. The collection celebrates the beauty of their shapes, colors, and narratives without using the controversial material. Design elements from the omnipresent plastic world are transformed into sculptural, durable objects, thus liberating them from the throwaway mentality. Handcrafted production in high-quality materials honors those forms that are otherwise carelessly discarded.
