Interfering Perspectives | Emergence Delft Talks

Join Us at Dutch Design Week mission days to Explore the Impact of Quantum, AI, and the Tools to Understand Them.

The future is here, and it’s powered by technologies like Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence. How do we even begin to talk about these complex innovations when the mere mention of words like Quantum makes people tune out? TU Delft Team Emergence is hosting two panels about these topics.

How can we prepare for our quantum future? Panel 1 09:30 - 10:30 @NatLab

Are you a policymaker, tastemaker or just interested in Quantum and Art? In that case, this panel discussion is for you.
Although quantum mechanics is a rather difficult topic to discuss due to its complexity, there is a good possibility that quantum technologies will play a significant role in our everyday life. Join us for “How can we prepare for our quantum future?”, a panel discussion which will dive into the effects of quantum technologies and the opportunities and challenges these technologies have to offer. Together with quantum experts from QuTech, experts on digital society, experts from the quantum ethics field and panelists with expertise in the role of art within science communication we will discuss and explore how, as a society, we can best prepare for these technological (quantum) developments and whether art can be the answer.

(h)Art to Understand" - Panel 2 11:30 - 12:30 @NatLab

A Panel Discussion on Communicating Complex Ideas Through Art and Technology

How do machines actually ‘learn’ from data? Join us for "(h)Art to Understand," a dynamic panel discussion exploring how art, science, and technology can come together to communicate complex ideas. As our world becomes more interconnected and intricate, conveying abstract or technical concepts in a way that resonates with broader audiences is increasingly important. This panel brings together experts from TU Delft's Crossing Parallels and Emergence Delft, 4DSOUND, and other innovators in AI and immersive media. Together, we'll explore new tools and interdisciplinary collaborations that are transforming how we share and understand challenging stories, making the "hard to understand" both clear and impactful.

About Emergence Delft

Emergence Delft is, since September 2023, a Dream Team of TU Delft. The student team joins the forces of TU Delft students with those of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Together they develop new technologies, which they use to build art installations that encourage people to think about the increasingly digital world around us.
