Un-Compliant Mechanisms

Un-compliant mechanisms is an exploration of a world where humans are not the sole rulers of the atmosphere around but more so co-habitants of objects

We live in an age, where all smart advancements in products serve to make life more convenient, give more control to the user, and more choice But we also live in an age, where there are more parties affected by the irresponsible actions of humans

Un-Compliant Mechanisms is exploring this dilemma

Objects as co-habitants

Un-compliant mechanisms is an exploration of a world where humans are not the sole rulers of the atmosphere around but more so co-habitants of objects, commodities and everything as a whole.

The “exaggerated products” designed within un-compliant mechanisms aim to bring accountability to the human conscience, making one self aware with the everyday actions conducted within the home.

Union of Objects

The appliances in un-compliant mechanisms all have a personality, which reacts to the user. These reactions can be seemingly random, while having a cryptic meaning showing the dissatisfaction of the appliance in the actions the human has conducted (such as keeping lights on while there is ample sunlight outside and the blinds are closed).

This unionification of un-compliant mechanisms aims to create a dialogue between human and the living space it has, inviting them to be more aware since their actions also affect the world where these appliances have been brought to life within.
