Cosmic Lullabies

Experience stars obscured by light pollution. These ambient compositions aim to improve sleep quality by transforming star data to a serene soundscape

Experience the stars we rarely see. Cosmic lullabies, an ambient journey designed by the data of our stars to reconnect us with the cosmos. This project delves into the profound impact of light pollution on our relationship with the night sky, exploring its implications on society and human health.

Experience the stars we rarely see.

Cosmic Lullabies translates the diminishing starlight into a meditative soundscape, transforming star data from various locations into soothing lullabies. As light pollution disrupts our sleep and our connection to nature, these ambient compositions aim to improve sleep quality and restore a sense of calm.

Light pollution increases on a yearly average with about 10%. This means, a child born where 250 stars are visible at night today would only be able to see about 100 by the time they reach 18”.

Cosmic Lullabies aims to reintroduce the starry sky through music, offering peace and tranquility amidst chaos in the bustle of modern life. By experiencing this project, you are also contributing to the preservation of our celestial heritage, translating the fading phenomenon into a lasting musical expression.

By transforming raw data into music, we gave ambient life to raw scientific data. Each tone you hear in this ambient music represents a star visible to the naked eye from the locations: Hong Kong, New York, Amsterdam and Cape Town. These locations range from highly light-polluted cities to those with minimal light pollution, each representing a unique ambiance.
