ConVivio

A private home and studio of an Italian interior designer opens its doors, transforming into a space for connecting with the city.

Inviting the city into a home and studio to reveal a unique interior design project—an Italian kitchen seamlessly blended into the heart of Dutch design.
This is the journey of an expat in Eindhoven, seeking a new harmony while staying deeply rooted in a clear, authentic identity.

The kitchen of Terracotta House speaks of belonging, grounding oneself to navigate a fluid society.

From the warm landscapes of Puglia, Italy, to the vibrant city of Eindhoven, Sandra Placet Interior Design brings her unique vision of tasteful design to life.
After arriving in Eindhoven, Sandra found herself longing for the warmth and familiarity of her homeland.
Inspired by the white stone and olive trees of Puglia, the designer transformed her own home/studio Terracotta House in a new space with bespoke elements that evoked a sense of nostalgia and belonging.

The Apulian stone of the kitchen brought her back to her roots. The raw maple wood finished with oil for the cabinet doors is an appeal to a choice of sustainability in furnishing projects.
While the Terracotta color echoed the tradition of Italian and Mediterranean craftsmanship mixed to the traditional bricks of the Dutch houses.

Sustainability in her work goes beyond the preference for natural and raw materials.
The very process of tasteful design SandraPlacet Interior Designer offers aims to guide clients in defining their spaces and selecting objects with mindful awareness. This approach emphasizes the importance of quality over quantity, fostering a sense of belonging to places and ensuring sustainable choices.

The kitchen: not just a functional space, but the heart of family connection and togetherness.

For years, the kitchen was relegated to a service area, purely functional.
The kitchen project at Terracotta House aims to restore the sacred value of the kitchen space. It’s no longer just a place for preparing and consuming food, but a space where you cook for pleasure, experiment, and entertain friends while preparing a delicious meal. A space for connection, to be shared with family and friends.

The central island with removable drawers, designed to transform the central space into a high table for 12 seats, symbolizes the centrality of the kitchen as a relational space, a place to be shared with others.

Convivio is more than just a project—it's a reimagining of the role of the kitchen in our homes and the significance of relational spaces in our lives. An invitation to redefine the boundaries of design and community, one shared moment at a time.

A space for sharing. A space to live together. ConVivio.

Inspired by the Latin concept of "con-vivio," or living together, these spaces epitomize the essence of shared experiences and meaningful connections.
“Convivio” is also an unfinished literary work by Dante Alighieri.
The title chosen by the poet refers to a “banquet” where everyone feasts on what they most enjoy, symbolizing his intention to lay out a table filled with the rich dishes of knowledge, with poetry as the bread.
This time, the food served at the table of Terracotta House will be the “shared knowledge” and experiences of a group of international expat women in Eindhoven.

Host by a facilitator, different talks/experience will take place around the table every day at 12, focusing on design, sustainability, well-being, and cultural exchange.
Terracotta House opens the door to the neighborhood, the city and all visitors, fostering connection and inclusivity.

You are welcome all day to slow down, have a rest and feel at home.
