HOLLOW

In collaboration with Valentin Avon

“We are quite removed from the inflatable industry in general, most of what exists being highly technical and used for specialized industry. We want to make it more accessible, bringing high quality inflatable design to the everyday scale”

Future of inflatables

Quality inflatables exist only in highly technical industries, and those available to consumers are clad primarily in cheap and synthetic materials. To bridge the gap between quality and consumer accessibility that exists within the inflatables industry, Couasnon and Avon use natural latex and organic textile fibers as air vessels, expanding the tactile experience of inflatable furniture.
“Hollow” is an inflatable table with 8 pressure valves, each responsible for individual air vessels on the surface, inviting users to modify the surfaces three-dimensionally. Giving inflatable techniques familiar forms and feeling, and enhances the perceived value of air as a construction material.
