Ricky van Broekhoven presents three recent works in his studio.
On Form and Energy
Vibrations and cycles exist at all levels of the universe, from subatomic processes to the movement of celestial bodies. Scientists and philosophers emphasize that everything is in constant flux. On the quantum level, where the smallest particles reside, Newtonian laws are challenged, opening up new possibilities for our understanding of space, time, and matter. The three exhibited works by Ricky van Broekhoven invite visitors to reflect on the tension between perception and reality.
"Phasing Waves," a collaboration with musician Albert van Abbe, is an installation that uses an oscillating string and high-frequency stroboscopic light to create dynamic, colored volumes.
"A Soundsystem for Silence" is a constellation of 96 speakers, developed as part of the Myubio collective. Inspired by natural sounds, it projects evolving layers of sound into the space.
"Noise Cancelled Cities X Audiograph" is a new iteration of Audiograph, a hybrid of a seismograph and a speaker, which converts sound vibrations from the city into graphic images.
